Economic empowerment for youth with disabilities: A program through we identify and provide training/micro-credit loans for young people with physical disabilities as a result of their involvement as child soldiers or from childhood illnesses.
Children:
HUB provides for the rehabilitation and education of an initial 400 orphan children whose parents have both died of Aids in the Nairobi slums. Kenyan natives, Joe and Alyce Symmon founders of Child of Destiny have 7 centers in Kenya (one was burnt down in the recent atrocities). Children coming into the center are 3-7 years old and are taught through 12 grade.
Women:
We are implementing a micro-credit stimulated cottage industry with a first group of women from the slums starting school uniform business. A child can not go to school without a school uniform and so this business impacts the orphans and other HUB and 3rd Party school centers.
